Venue Style

Durham Springs markets itself as a luxury location, but I find it to be rustic that can be made into a luxury venue. This venue is well-suited for unique and upscale wedding experiences in the countryside of Bucks County.

History

Durham Springs was once known as Cascade Lodge, a scenic and beloved Bucks County landmark. The historic 1730's farmhouse has new owners and has been transformed into a premier wedding and event center in Kintnersville, Durham Township.

New owners Dan Fehlig and Ian Humphreys purchased the property in 2017, and after major renovations and innovations have brought the property back not only to its former glory but well beyond.

Catering

Dan Fehlig learned his restaurateur craft while working at several notable New York restaurants, including the Four Seasons. He also started a catering company called The Upper Crust while he was in Manhattan, and beginning in July, The Upper Crust will be available for Lehigh Valley and Bucks County area functions.

Durham Springs seamlessly blends his restaurant experience and catering business.

Design & Event Decor Services

Durham Springs also offers complete design and event decor services. They consider themselves not just wedding planners but wedding producers. Catering, event decor, design, entertainment and lighting are some of the services offered to clients of Durham Springs events, whether it’s a wedding or any other event.

Bridal Salon

Also, the facility now offers a fully equipped bridal salon.

Other Events

Durham Springs also hosts events other than weddings, such as this baby shower filled with floral eye candy. The designer utilized the tall ceilings at Durham Springs and created this incredible event decor that led the eye up and emphasized height.

Although the room is filled with natural light, I used two flashes hidden at the base to bring out the beautiful colors and contrast of the ribbons and floral displays. Floor-to-ceiling windows line one wall of the indoor event center and offer a scenic view of rolling hills and ponds, as well as outdoor seating.

Barn, farm and rustic wedding venues have become incredibly popular among brides and grooms, and this one is truly stunning. Cascading ponds, bubbling springs, floor-to-ceiling windows and scenic vistas offer a picturesque setting. Ceremonies or receptions can be held inside with seating for up to 300 guests.

There’s a second-floor event space that’s large enough for several hundred guests, and the outside of the event center was re-designed to resemble an actual barn, with one side featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the gorgeous 33-acre property.

Durham Springs is already enjoying a successful first year, with 27 weddings booked, according to Kathleen Persing, Durham Springs’ sales and marketing director.

“We have 29 weddings already for 2019, Katherine said. The goal would be about 50 weddings a year. With pricing at $150-$190 per person. “I would say our average bride spends $30,000 to $35,000 on their wedding with us. We offer additional services as well, and specialized items such as a lighting, floral and event decor can be added through us.

“We have one bride who is customizing her wedding with our services and has added a lot of event decor, floral and lighting and is spending over $80,000. Five of the 29 weddings we have on tap for this year are high end weddings, with the couples spending between $40,000 and 70,000.”
