J<\/strong>ust about every aspect of life has been on hold, thanks to COVID-19. Weddings and celebrations have been postponed for a few months or well into next year, venues have been closed and couples are trying to figure out new ways to celebrate their special day. But what is the new normal? Weddings can be held once again, only now with restrictions to the number of guests and accommodations for social distancing. People are still getting married, but more couples are opting for a small, intimate gathering: The Micro Wedding.<\/p>\n

Meg and Mike\u2019s much larger wedding celebration and reception was planned for early May, when venues were closed and stay-at-home orders were in effect. Their new date of June 7 was three days into Pennsylvania\u2019s Yellow Phase, when gatherings of up to 25 people were allowed. They had a truly spectacular day, which they had waited for a very long time.<\/p>\n

Meg and Mike knew each other in high school but never dated and both got married and had families. Meg has three grown children, Mike four, and when each was looking for their forever soulmate, they found each other all over again. Pandemic or not, true love prevails. They wanted to get married once their kids were older, and after waiting seven years for this celebration, something like a pandemic was not about to stop it.<\/p>\n

Their day wasn\u2019t about every little detail being perfect. It was about family and the very closest of friends, of seeing your daughters grown and beautiful as your bridesmaids, having your son walk you to your new husband, your new sons serving as ring bearer and toastmaster. It was a day to formally celebrate a new family that one could tell already felt like a family.<\/p>\n
